RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Volunteer Grant Board member for multiple state and county Arts grant Review boards (listed above) enabled me to see the grant writing process from the funding, evaluation and committee side. Having a grant writer, consultant or administrator in your camp who has seen both sides of the fence is an invaluable resource. Tapping into the experience that has consistently secured funding on the state and federal level at the highest grant application ratings maximizes that resource.

Independent Business owner for over a decade increased my financial management skills and broadened my responsibilties, while sharpening my ability to work independently, set and meet deadlines and analyze and solve problems. Average annual gross sales of $1,000,000.00, average staff of 12.

Lead Graphic Designer for the University of Alaska Southeast. The fusion of meeting the demands of multiple university departments, while staying on budget and exercising creativity pays dividends. I can deliver quick, attractive and functional marketing pieces to satisfy any scope of project, budget level and design needs, or provide you with documentation photography services, scanning, web site design and more.

Over a decade in varying capacities in the music business including work for Warner Brothers Music, Columbia Records and the Paramount Theater in Seattle, Washington. These tasks gave me a solid grounding in financial management, contract negotiation and live event execution.

Published fiction and non-fiction author, plus proof reader for the State of Alaska Senate. Writing is but one of my passions and whether you need a concise but personalized grant narrative to a staff manual that won't put them to sleep to a private fund raising letter that's concise and touches the heart, I can help.

Multiple years freelancing as a business consultant allows me to offer everything from management, staff, Board of Directors or organization evaluation and recommendations to embezzlement tracking, staff education, workshops and seminars. I can also work on a temporary basis to assist non-profits in transition, or to produce on-off fund raisers, live events or execute specific grant programs.
