Sunset at Koele
This painting that I did shows a sunset at Koele along the road where you are going to the graveyard. I took a picture of this when my Mom, Glory Malaqui and I were going to the mountains to pick up soil for her to use for her plants back at home. When we were done digging soil, The sun was setting so I just took a picture of it on the ride back home

Koele Water Flower

I joined photography because I wanted to try something new. I wanted to learn how photographers use their own techniques to define pictures. I joined this to learn what photos mean to me. I took my picture at the Lodge at Koele when I was walking around at Lodge at Koele garden and I saw the flower in the water. Thank you very much, enjoy.

Mental Fire

The reason I painted this is because I always wanted to do an abstract. So when I came into the studio with no idea of what I wanted to paint, I decided to get out a canvas and throw some paint on it. My 1st one was pretty good and I really liked doing “splatter paint”. So for this painting, I decided to do that style.

Reflections
I always knew my glasses were super reflective and I had wanted to take a picture utilizing its reflections. I saw this at the beach when I was walking around in Lahaina. At first I didn’t think much of it because I was more interested in the pier, but then I saw the reflection in my glasses and it was just so perfect. A lot of the people I showed it to thought it was Photoshopped but I’m here to say that it is a 100% natural and totally untouched picture.

Lithium

When I saw the picture of Palawai Basin I really liked the clouds and that’s what I really wanted to paint. I liked how there were light colors on top and dark colors on the bottom. It reminded me of being bipolar, which is why I called the painting Li
thium.

The Lahaina Banyan Tree

On our way back to the ferry dock with my friend Ryan and Dr. Sharie, we were passing the Pioneer Inn, when dr. Sharies spotted red seeds on the banyan tree. Walking towards the tree for a better look, one seed landed right in front of us. Turning around, the sun beamed right in my face. I took a step back and looked up. I had found my picture!

The Steps of Love

This art piece I have painted is a painting of love. The colors red, pink and purple, symbolize that at first, love is light as red or pink, but as love grows stronger in a relationship it turns dark red or purple. The different levels of the mountains represent how there will always be different steps in love that we need to face. But the main purpose of my painting is to show everyone that everyone deserves to have love in life for someone or something

Hinano Mano

I chose this photograph as my best and favorite. It is of my little cousin Hinano Mano, who is kind of a clown. One day I was taking pictures for this class and we were outside. He was running around and posing for me and I got one picture of him I knew was good, but then he climbed up on the piece of wood, hanging on with his fingertips all shaky. I snapped the picture to capture the moment like we learned in class, and I was really glad I did, ‘cause right after, he fell off and landed on his little butt.
